Drive, and the Firestone Wide Oval. Nitto Yokohama Firestone I love the looks of the Nitto if nothing else, they're a bit cheaper, and every review I've read says nothing but great things.
Only down side is they are only V rated. They also look like they might do a bit better in the rain. I've always liked Firestone tires, and they have a great rating on TireRack, but are they worth the extra money?
Does anyone have any experience with these three tires, good or bad? Re: Nitto vs. Why exactly is Z rating a requirement for you? Those nittos look like they would be horrible in the rain. I would also assume regardless of the treadwear rating on the tire, they wear really fast.
Good for traction, bad for the wallet. TO me, vs isnt a big deal. What actually happens could be a lil different. What did tirerack say in the reviews about wear?

I'll replace the 22s with 20" wheels and need your thoughts on the best riding all terrain tires. Off-road traction is not a concern as this truck will never be on anything other than pavement ok, maybe an occasional gravel road.
While I like the idea of a more aggressive looking tire, I'd give that up for comfort. Hankook Tire introduces automatic inspection system in product testing.Yokohama has announced the release of their newest all-terrain tire, the Geolandar X-AT. So in the crowded space of the all-terrain tire category, where does the X-AT fit in? On their invitation, I recently went to Las Vegas, Nevada and met up with Yokohama to try and find out. With promises of a deeper look at the X-AT and some seat time, I was excited to see what this premium offering had in store.
Fardad started the briefing by talking a little more about the Geolandar lineup and where the X-AT sits in the current offerings. A careful balance of those demands is where Yokohama claims it really stands out.
Breaking Down The Tire. The X-AT offers an aggressive tread pattern while delivering the benefits of a standard light truck tire. With a tall list of claims to try and verify, it was time for me to head out to the X-AT fitted vehicles that Yokohama had secured for testing. Testing Out The Tire. After pairing up with my co-driver, Rich, we hopped into our truck and got underway. It was about 10 miles to the trail head Yokohama had chosen for us.
It was only a few minutes into the ride that both Rich and I started to discuss whether Ford had improved the cabin noise insulation on this latest model, or if the tires were actually as quiet as they seemed. Before long, we pulled up to the trail head and gathered into a line. Drivers waiting for the truck in front to clear the hill. Not all drivers used a crawling pace.
The trail started off as a well-traveled loose gravel path. The initial pace was set around 30 mph and delivered a similar driving feel and noise level to the paved roadways, with the addition of rock pings on the running boards.
We gained speed down the path. From rocks to dirt to steep inclines, the X-ATs were up to the challenge. The X-AT's maneuvered several grades without a slip.
Soon, we came upon a large hill overlooking the valley we were in. Here, the line halted and waited until the trucks in front of us rested before heading up the slope. Up to this point, the X-ATs had handled the trail with the comfort of a morning commute; the rock-topped hill before promised to give a better idea of the available traction.
After a quick pause to ensure everyone got a few photos, we all remounted and headed down the trail. The next section of the drive was a deep rutted path over some smaller hills. This afforded a few opportunities to find the traction limits of the X-ATs as the trucks spaced out. Heading through several deep dry washes, the tires performed well, maintaining traction even when the brakes were heavily applied during descent.

The Nittos are wayyyy better than the trash PZeros thats for damn sure. I may have to play with the tire pressure more but I love em so far! Notagain likes this. No complaints about my NT05s so far. Itll be on studded snowtires and factory wheels come winter again Fuuuuuck I hate North Dakota winters. Im in Grand Forks pretty close to Cananananananananada.

Toyo and Nokian all-weather tires put to the test
Discount Tire quickly recommended the Yoko over the Nitto. Anyone have any negative comments or regrets about either of these tires? Joined Aug 17, Messages 4, Location Colorado. This should be a pretty good snow tire for an AT - silica compound and tread design. I think it is a less aggressive offroad tire than the Nitto. I don't know about Nitto treadlife.
Tire recommendation (Pirelli vs Nitto)
For just about all road use, the Yoko looks to me like a better priced alternative to the Revo, which is what is often said about the Nitto, but that doesn't hold if treadlife isn't on par.
They were well on track to 45k plus miles, granted on a lighter truck. Much better than the bfg at in my opinion especially in wet dirt. I have about 21k miles on My Nitto Terra Grapplers and they have not let me down.
Although I have not experienced them off road as much as others, I did a trip to Mainland Mexico over 3K miles, and never got a flat during that trip, saw about miles of Mex dirt roads.Remember Me? Narrowed down to these two brands. Can you share your opinion about Toyo vs Yoko? Also are Toyo tires made here in the US? I saw one Yoko today and it was made in Thailand.
